I think we should retire the phrase “she’s not your typical damsel in distress”, especially as pertaining to women in movies/shows/games.
At least in the things I watch, the typical female character is usually anything but.
Filed under it just makes me mad that I have to read it everytime a new female protagonist comes out every single review for every disney film EVER oh it's nice to finally see a STRONG FEMALE ROLE MODEL I'm going to start writing reviews about how nice it is to see a weak male character that isn't your typical strong manly hero we'll see how you like that brave tangled the princess and the frog legend of korra to name a few
